Stone Soup

“Bring What You’ve Got and Put it in the Pot!”

In November, each of our environments reads “Stone Soup,” the Grimm Brothers tale about every member of a community bringing one small item to share to create a delicious soup for everyone to enjoy.

We hold a Stone Soup Feast each year on the day we break for Thanksgiving. The children prepare soup, just like in the story. Each child brings one ingredient from home to contribute to the soup. Our students also harvest vegetables from the school garden to add to the pot and spend the week before the feast gathering and preparing the ingredients.

All of the classes invite their families and the entire community comes together to enjoy the meal.
